Now that we are officially in October, it is time for fall weddings. Have I been in the fall mindset since the end of August? Yes, yes I have but fall is officially here now and I am sharing some tips and tricks to prepare for your fall wedding day!
Fall is hands down my favourite season in general but especially for photography. The colourful leaves, crisp weather and cute aesthetics just call to me and I love everything about it. The fall drink menus at cafes don’t hurt either😜

3 Tips for Preparing for your Fall Wedding Day
Be Prepared for all Types of Weather
This is one of those tips that should be considered regardless of season, but fall can be extra unpredictable. Be sure to have a rain plan with back-up options for your ceremony and photos. Clear umbrellas are also always a good option. Also take into consideration that it could be warm and sunny or quite cool in the autumn months. Getting cute shawls or blanket scarves that match your wedding colours is always a great option for warmth and look great in photos!
Keep the Sunset in Mind
In the summer, the sunset is usually past 8pm or 9pm. But come September it rapidly becomes earlier and earlier. Especially if you are planning your wedding after the time change. Be sure to always work your ceremony and timeline around when it is still nice and bright outside for the best quality images!
Use Cute Fall Props for Photos
I am incredibly bias when it comes to fall because it is my favourite season but I think it has the cutest aesthetic! Why not include hay-bails, pumpkins, colourful florals and fall leaves into your decor and images. These things add more variety options for your photos and are always adorable!
