Dark Horse Estate Winery
So excited for another lovely summer wedding to be making it’s way onto the blog today, it is truly making me miss wedding season and really making me miss summer and warmer weather! Even though we had to deal with some torrential downpour rains and thunderstorms all through Cailey and Charles big day I would take that over all these crazy ice storms we have been having almost weekly here!
Cailey and Charles wedding was stunning, as mentioned because of some weather issues we had to make some changes to their wedding day plans like moving the ceremony inside but these two didn’t let anything stop them from having the perfect wedding day and everyone was full of smiles!
We began the day bright and early (well as a night owl I think it’s early haha) at 10am at the beautiful Dark Horse Estate Winery located in Grand Bend only a few minutes drive away from the main strip and beach! It is honestly one of the most beautiful venues I have ever had the pleasure of capturing a wedding! We started with Cailey’s stunning wedding details before heading 45 minutes away to capture Charles getting ready with his groomsmen!
The contrast between the modern stylish bridal suite at Dark Horse and the more rustic old charm of the hotel room Charles chose to get ready made a fun difference between the two for getting ready shots!
We then made our way back to Dark Horse to finish up Cailey’s getting ready images!
Due to the crazy weather and the rain the ceremony was moved inside to the cellar downstairs. We quickly captured some of their sweet wedding details before getting ready for their ceremony to begin!
Cailey and Charles ceremony was filled with laughs and smiles. They also did a wine mixing/tasting ceremony after the signing of the marriage certificate which was so them and added something so different and thoughtful to their day!
Thankfully during the ceremony the rain finally stopped and we were able to head outside to the winery to start bridal party and bride and groom images! Fun fact, photographing a wedding at a winery has always been a bucket list photographer item for me so I am so thankful I was able to cross that off the list last year!
We then took a little walk around the winery to get a few different looks to their images, including the beautiful brick wall out front, the wine cellar in the basement and the balcony overlooking the grapevines!
Following, the rest of the day was full of wedding details, laughs, smiles, tears and lots of touching speeches and an awesome first dance entrance! We finished off the night with a creative night shot in front of the winery’s stunning front doors before saying our good byes and letting them party the night away!
Congratulations Cailey and Charles! Your day was absolutely stunning and I am so honoured have have gotten to meet the two of you, your families and friends and of course capture such a lovely day in your lives together!
