Good Bye 2018 ~ Michelle A Photography’s Year In Review

Hello 2019! I hope everyone had a blast celebrating the holiday’s and the New Year with lots of friends, family and food and today I am celebrating what an amazing year 2018 was with a little year in review here on the blog! So much happened in 2018 and I am pretty excited to get to share all about it today, I will be sharing the 21 amazing weddings I got to be apart of, the several engagement and family sessions I captured last year and some other personal and business stuff that made 2018 so epic!

First things first which may also be one of the most exciting things was that Michelle A Photography celebrated being in business for 5 whole years and 2 years full time! If you have been following along for awhile you may have heard the story of how I began my business and I gave myself 5 years to make it successful so this was a huge milestone for me and my business! I also participated in the shoot and share contest again and although I did not get to place as high as I did in 2017 I did have a few photos place and two landed as finalists! I am pretty excited to be participating in the contest again for 2019!

I had two amazing weddings I photographed get featured on wedding blogs this past year, Janelle and Connor’s wedding was featured on Cake and Lace and Holly and Garet’s wedding was featured on The Wedding Ring!

Michelle A Photography was apart of two London Bridal Expo’s this past year (with the next one being this weekend at the Western Fair) and got to meet so many lovely couples planning their days!

On a more personal note, my husband Tylor and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary (and 9 whole years together) and had our photos taken while out on our trip to BC and Alberta this past June for a wedding, which Tylor was in and I photographed!! The trip out west was honestly one of the most amazing experiences and we can’t wait to go back one day! Top photo taken in the Kananaskis County by Kaihla Tonai!

What would be a year in review without some behind the scenes photos of me doing my thing and loving my job! I can’t thank all of my amazing second shooters and assistants this year enough for helping me capture all of my wedding days!

Now onto the blog posts, sessions and weddings! First up is a little compilation of all the my favourite images from my little blog series The Adventures of Samson and Michelle, this was this first full year we took photos of Samson every month and I will be continuing this series into 2019 as well! I love this series, I get to document Samson every single month (even though some go better then others) and now I will always have these sweet photos with my little corgi!

Now onto the sessions and amazing clients I have had the pleasure of capturing this year! I am so lucky that 2018 was by busiest year in my business and I have lots of favourites to share, first up are all of my amazing engagement sessions and couples sessions!

I also got to do something a little different this year and had a few family sessions with past clients! I also offered charity mini sessions for the first time in my business which were a huge success and I was able to donate $600 to Second Chance Auction Animal Rescue thanks to these sessions!

I also thought I would share my absolute favourite rings shots of 2018 as they happen to be my favourite things to photograph!

And last but certainly not least onto the amazing wedding days and couples I got to capture this past year! I had the pleasure of being apart of 21 weddings in 2018 with absolutely amazing people! I am so SO thankful for every single one of these couples as they are the reason my year was so amazing and I am excited to end of this year in review with my favourite image from each wedding day of 2018!
