2023 Year In-Review
And just like that 2023 has come to an end and we have entered into 2024! As usual, this is likely to be one of the longest blog posts of the year as I recap all of the weddings, sessions, minis, behind the scenes and personal memories from last year.
There were definitely some ups and downs last year. I always knew that whatever year my sweet Nani passed would be one of the worst. She was my cheerleader, best friend and confidant and I miss her each and every day. It is difficult entering into the new year without her but I also know that she is looking down and smiling at all the positive things happening in her kids and grandkids lives.
On a happier note, I got to celebrate 10 years in business last March, which is a dream come true! I don’t know how many small businesses make it to 10 years but I am so proud to say I’ve made it. 21 year old me would be sobbing to know we made it here!
I got to capture some amazing weddings, engagement sessions, family sessions and 3 different mini session days! Scroll down through the blog to check out some favourites from 2023.

Promo Photos
I was in need of new promotional photos this past year and I was lucky to be able to do an image swap with two of my favourite photographers! In July, Melissa from Melissa Pushelburg Photography and I met up at Fanshawe Conservation Area to take photos of each other. She was announcing her jump from part-time to full-time photographer and I just needed an updated profile pic!
Then in the fall, my bestie Cassie from Hope Harbour Photography and I headed out into the rain at Komoka Provincial Park to do some trendy ghost photos (see the BTS section next for that) and swapped some promo photos.
Of course in March, my husband Tylor also snapped some images of me to celebrate my 10th biz anniversary! I included a favourite from that as well because it’s still so wild to me that I got to celebrate 10 years running Michelle A Photography this past year!
Behind the Scenes
I was able to collect some super fun behind the scenes at weddings, sessions and our fun ghosty photos we took in October! I am so thankful to my second shooters and clients for capturing these fun bts moments. 🙂
Personal Memories of 2023
Last but not least in this 2023 Year In-Review, I wanted to chat about some personal things that happened throughout last year. As much as there were some amazing moments of the year. 2023 will always be known as the last year I got to spend with my Nani and had to say good-bye to her. Thankfully I was able to snap some iPhone photos of her over the last year and I am so thankful to have them.
On a more positive note, I got to celebrate 10 years in business with a weekend getaway to Retro Suites Hotel, went to Anime North with one of my besties and our hubbies and spent time with my Nani. My husband and I wrote out a summer bucket list and did our best to complete everything on it. We went to multiple concerts including seeing my all time favourite band for the 3rd time. I attended a sweet bridal shower, my first ever Drag Queen story time and we celebrated my mom and aunts 60th birthday and my Nani’s 91st!
I got to attend some Emo Nights with my bestie, spent lots of time with Samson and took him on some fun outings and of course did our traditional halloween costume for the 7th year in a row. We had lots of family time and I also got my 18th tattoo in honour of my sweet Nani.
I cannot wait to see what memories are created in this new year and my Nani will always be in my heart through everything I do.
Sincerely,
