Hello September!

Harry Potter

Guys, this may just be my favourite set of images I have ever done of Samson for this little monthly blog series of mine! September is always a challenge because honestly not much is happening over here other then us being busy with work and wedding season so coming up with a clever idea is always hard. I have contemplated doing back to school, end of summer and a couple of other ideas and finally settled on two, a fall theme or a Harry Potter theme!

So I went where anyone goes now a days when they cannot make a decision and headed to my Instagram Stories to get the opinion of my amazing followers! Harry Potter ended up winning by a landslide and as much as I love fall I was a little bit more excited to do a theme for one of my all time favourite series! We are lucky enough that Tylor kept all of his original hard cover Harry Potter books so I made those the main prop for the session. I added in a $10 wand from Spirit Halloween (yes the halloween stores are open now!), the cutest card given to me by a past bride turned friend Kristine and a couple of other notable Harry Potter items to make a little set of props to add Samson into!

We went to Western University for the photos too as I figured somewhere with older brick buildings and rod iron gates would add to the over all look I was going for!

Naturally being a Hufflepuff I have a scarf that Tylor got me last year for Christmas so that needed to be used! You will notice that I did two sets of photos this time, some with Samson wearing the Hufflepuff colours and some wearing a Slytherin bow tie, there is a little bit of a story here that I wanted to share! So because I am a crazy dog mom/Harry Potter loving person I did an online quiz made from a shelter in the States that sorts their animals into Hogwarts Houses to help their adoptions (cute I know!) and originally for Samson I got Hufflepuff and as a proud Hufflepuff myself I was so excited!! Well as time has gone on and as I have done the quiz again Samson is 100% a Slytherin so I had to represent both houses with this shoot!
