Shannon and Jake’s August Wedding Day

I am so excited to be sharing another lovely wedding day on the blog this morning and even though we have some winter weather moving in, Shannon and Jake’s wedding day reminds me of warm summer weddings! I first met these two at the London Bridal Expo at the Western Fair Grounds in the fall of 2016, we chatted away about their wedding day and we booked a time to sit down and meet away from the stresses of the bridal show!
We met at Starbucks and chatted all about their wedding day plans and I couldn’t help but get super excited! We also planned their urban fall engagement shoot that we did shortly after meeting which you can check out here! Once their wedding day rolled around I was so excited to get the day started and share in these twos love story!
We began the day at Wright Hair & Co to capture Shannon and her girls get all ready for the day! I loved all the candid moments that we were able to capture of Shannon getting pampered and of her bridesmaids and mom having a great start to such an important day!
Shortly after, we headed a little closer to Forest City National Golf Club to the Best Western Airport Inn to capture some candid moments of Jake hanging out with his groomsmen, getting ready for the day and watching some Baseball while drinking some of their favourite beers!
Honestly Forest City National has been added to my list of favourite wedding venues! I love that even though it is a golf course and has that setting, it also has the look of a conservation area which leads to beautiful backdrops! I had the pleasure of capturing two weddings there this year and can’t even wait to share the next! We began our time at the venue capturing Shannon’s bridal details, the gorgeous ceremony spot and their reception details!
Their ceremony was so full of love not only from the bride and groom but from all of their welcomed guests, friends and family! I loved getting to witness all the smiles that happened throughout this sunny day!
After the ceremony, we headed out in some golf carts to explore the grounds that this super cool venue has to offer! We found some amazing spots and captured all of Shannon and Jake’s bridal party as well as some images of just the two of them!
We headed back to the reception hall to capture their first dance, amazing speeches and of course plenty of candid moments!
Also I always get really happy when couples want to sneak out to do some sunset images! It is such a perfect time of day and the photos always look so warm and full of light!
We ended the night off with one of my favourite night photos to date! The sun had just finished setting, which lead to the amazing sky in the background and I couldn’t have thought of a better spot then under the same archway they said I Do to capture the last image of the night!
Congratulations Shannon and Jake! Your day was absolutely stunning and I am so honoured have have gotten to meet the two of you, your families and friends and of course capture such a lovely day in your lives together!
