Vandita & Michael’s Forest City Wedding
The first wedding blog of 2024 is here and I am so excited to be sharing about Vandita and Michael’s Christian/Hindu wedding! This was my very first time ever getting to capture a Hindu ceremony and I am so grateful to Vandita and Michael for giving me the chance to capture such a precious memory for them!
I first got to meet Vandita and Michael in person at their engagement session which we did last fall at the always stunning Fanshawe Conservation Area. They really rocked their session and it was so fun getting to know each other, you can check out their engagement session on the blog here!
When Vandita and Michael’s wedding day rolled around to say I was excited is a massive understatement. We arrived at Forest City National to capture some quick getting ready images with Vandita and her wedding party and then Michael and his. It is so nice when weddings are all in one spot, it makes your timeline flow so much easier not having to worry about traffic or road conditions!
The coolest thing about their wedding day was that they planned to have 2 ceremonies, one Christian for Michael’s religion and one Hindu for Vandita’s. The Christian ceremony was first and after we did wedding party and couple photos before getting ready for the Hindu ceremony to begin.
Witnessing a Hindu ceremony was incredibly cool, it is so different from the traditional ceremonies I am used to photographing. Vandita made sure to give me the rundown of all the super important parts and I loved capturing all the smiles and customs!
Following the Hindu ceremony, we took the time to capture more bride and groom portraits as well as some more photos with their wedding party and closest friends. I will always love Forest City National for weddings, it has so much to offer for photos and has the feel of a conservation area!
Vandita and Michael also took some time to write special cards to each other to have a private vow reading to each other. I love that more couples are prioritizing some personal moments together on their wedding day!
The rest of the evening was spent capturing their reception, I adore the details Vandita and Michael put into their day. The centrepieces were made by Vandita herself and included adorable little elephants from India! I also used one for their ring photo because they were way too cute not to. We had a delicious meal, listened to loving and heartfelt speeches and captured their amazing choreographed first dance.
One last detail that I absolutely adored was that Vandita had her “father/daughter” dance with all of the important men in her life. Which was so incredibly special!
