Wedding and Honeymoon Recap! ~ London Ontario Wedding ~ Century Wedding Barn

My Wedding and Honeymoon Recap!

May 27th-June 7th 2017

London Ontario Wedding

And I am officially back!

It has been a crazy and absolutely amazing couple of weeks and I wanted to do a full recap on the blog with some sneak peeks our amazing photographer Sophie from Raw Footage Photography captured of our day and also some fun iPhone images of our honeymoon in the Dominican Republic (and 24 hour layover in Charlotte North Carolina)! So as most of my lovely clients, readers, followers and friends know my HUSBAND (still weird to say but amazing) and I tied the knot on May 27th at Century Wedding Barn in Denfield Ontario, which is about a 20-30 minute drive from London! It is an amazing venue if you are looking for a rustic or farm type wedding. That isn’t what I was going for at all however but it still fit exactly what I envisioned for our wedding day! We got the property on the Friday morning and had it till the Sunday afternoon for set up and take down which took a lot of pressure off everyone and everything for the actual wedding day!

We spent the morning having our hair and makeup done by the amazing Selah Vie Hair and Makeup Artistry team of Erica and Rachel and pretty much just stuffed our faces with food and listened to some not so wedding morning getting ready music, but it was perfect and so relaxing to just take the morning slow and just chill out!

Once 1pm rolled around it was time to get the day started! I got my dress on, headed outside for some images with my mom and some portraits of myself and we all loaded up in the van to head to the venue!

We arrived and I started to get a little nervous and super excited, Tylor and I planned to do a first look, one because as a photographer I adore when couples choose to do one and two we got to have that moment of just us seeing each other for the first time on our wedding day with only the photographers and videographer there to witness. It was such a special moment to the both of us and I know that is one part of the day that I will always remember as one of my favourites!

Then this happened!

Anyone who knows me knows I am OBSESSED with my little corgi Samson, he is my beautiful little ham and I am so glad we were able to organize it so that he could be brought out to the venue to get some images. Needless to say this one is my current Facebook profile picture and the jokes continue that I love my dog more then my husband, but hey look how cute he is!

Since we chose to do a first look we got to do all of our images before the ceremony, we headed back to the end of the property into the woods where Sophie found the most amazing location and pocket of light, being on the other side of the camera is a weird feeling when you are so used to being the one directing and posing but this portrait that Sophie captured is already one of my favourites!

We did all of the images back in this amazing spot before the ceremony and I can honestly say I am way to excited to see all of our wedding images!

The ceremony began at 4:30, I honestly wasn’t nearly as nervous as I thought I would be, all of the nerves just kind of vanished after the first look and then I just knew that I got to marry the man of my dreams today and it was mostly just a huge amount of excitement for the rest of the day! My dad walked me down the aisle to one of my absolute favourite songs, Swing Life Away by Rise Against (who I am seeing live again for the 5th time on Sunday). It was a violin cover done by Vitamin String Quartet and now when I listen to that song it will have such a bigger meaning to the both of us then ever before!

The ceremony was short and sweet, I managed to only mess up one line and I also managed to get Tylor’s ring on the left hand which was a miracle in itself, which was my irrational wedding fear! 😛

Another favourite memory of the day was walking back down the aisle, we looked over to the parking lot to see one of my best friends and his girlfriend waving and I just screamed out “we are married” and waved back! They felt so bad but honestly its another memory of the day I will never forget, and that is a really awesome to me!

The rest of the day was just as amazing as the rest, we did family photos, took more images of just the two of us in golden hour (every photographers dream), listened to amazing speeches done by our parents, Tylor’s best man and we gave a pretty okay speech ourselves for not being public speakers. We did our entrance to our favourite band, had our first dance to the song he asked me out to 8 years ago and danced with our parents. We played the shoe game, chatted with all of our friends and family who took the time to come and be with us and danced the night away!

It was perfect in every way and I am so lucky to call this amazing man my husband every day from now till forever!

Taking a break from this recap to thank all of my amazing vendors cause I love you all and honestly I would have been a mess without you,

Unmistakably You Wedding Planning and Coordination, DJ Alpha, Raw Footage Photography, Invited by Dani (who also did a video for us, I can’t wait to see), Century Wedding Barn, Wayside Catering, Wedding Officiants, Selah Vie Hair and Makeup and our Bartenders!

We left for our honeymoon the Monday after our wedding which honestly was exhausting but also amazing! We wanted to take a honeymoon immediately following our wedding, especially after all the planning and we hadn’t taken a vacation for about 3 years so we were so excited to fly somewhere warm for a whole week of some relaxation!

We got into the Dominican Republic at around 3pm on the Monday and we were awake for about 36 hours straight with all the travel down there, needless to say we were asleep by 8pm that night!

We spent the whole week sleeping, eating and laying by the pool or on the beach and it was so nice to just get away for a week and pretty much do nothing! We are both pretty big workaholics and are busy all the time so it was strange making ourselves do nothing and relax but I know it was good for both of us to just chill!

On our way home we actually had a 24 hour layover in Charlotte North Carolina, which meant we were going to Cheesecake Factory! Which if I am being perfectly honest I was most excited to have the cheesecake during our whole trip, hence the photo with my red velvet cheesecake! Where are my cheesecake lovers at?!

It was so awesome getting to spend so much time together as husband and wife and I am so thankful that Tylor’s parents gifted us this incredible honeymoon and trip away together!

So mushy wedding recap done, happy Thursday everyone!
