Sarah and Christian’s Summer Farm Wedding!

Guys, I am so excited to finally be blogging a wedding day again! A new wedding hasn’t made it’s way onto the blog since April, which is pretty crazy to me but with going in order of when I photograph these events another wedding hasn’t popped up to be blogged until today and I am so excited to get to share Sarah and Christian’s farm wedding that I had the pleasure of photographing right after I returned from my honeymoon on June 10th!
Sarah and Chris met in high school but did not begin dating until later when they reconnected so technically they are high school sweethearts! Then Chris proposed to Sarah on Christmas and the rest is history! They tied the knot on Sarah’s parents farm during a beautiful sunny ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family! Everything about this day screamed love, the love between these two incredible people, the love from each of their families and the love from their close friends! I loved the whole day and I can’t wait to share a little bit more about it with all of you!
We began the day just before the ceremony began, we also had perfect weather for the whole afternoon which can’t be said for my other June weddings which will be making there way onto the blog in the coming months as well. They had an adorable sign out front and a lovely arbour for the ceremony we couldn’t help but make sure to capture these important aspects of the day! The whole ceremony was so sweet and I love all the candids that we were able to capture for these two!
Immediately after the ceremony we began family photos and bridal party photos, they had such a small intimate bridal party which just consisted of Sarah’s sister (who also stayed up all night making the amazing cake and their pie bar) and Christian’s twin brother! I loved that they had their siblings by their side the whole day! Oh and of course one of the most adorable flower girls I have ever met, Maya! She was so sweet and so hilarious the whole day!
The best part about Sarah’s families farm was how gorgeous the landscape was! We headed to this beautiful field out back from where the tent was for their bride and groom portraits, the colours of the field mixed with her stunning flowers just added so much to the day and really captured the farm wedding feel! Not to mention that these two were so candid with each other and I was able to capture so many authentic moments between them!
Shortly after finishing up the first part of their portraits (yes we had two parts of the day for their portraits, so you can imagine I was one happy photographer) they did their entrance into their reception! I just loved all of their details, they had little personalized jars of honey for their favours, more huge sunflowers in their centerpieces and plenty of personal details!
Also they had a pie bar, I just really needed to share because how amazing! Not to mention that her maid of honour and sister made all of the pies and the cake as well! Like a pie bar, where was this idea when I got married!
One of my favourite things to capture during a wedding is the wedding rings, which honestly is no surprise at this point, but one of my favourite moments of the day was when Sarah turned to me to point out that the sunflower in her bouquet would be the perfect spot for their rings and I honestly had a dreamie moment! I love that she knew how much I adore rings shots and even put some thought into some ideas!
The rest of the evening was full of speeches, smiles and of course their cake cutting! Listening to speeches is always one of my favourite parts of the wedding because you get to hear all about the couple and of course some funny stories! Then they had their first dance as husband and wife and we headed back outside into the sunset to finish up with some more portraits of them together!
Thank you and congratulations Sarah and Christian! It was such an honour meeting both of you and your families and friends, it was the most perfect day and I am so glad I was able to be apart of it!
Ps. They had mac and cheese at their wedding for dinner so I was pretty much in heaven and needed to give the cater a shout out because the food was so delicious! Thank you Eat Your Heart Out Catering, it was an amazing dinner!
