Erika and Darren’s Summer Wedding Day!

It’s time for a new blog post and I am so excited to not only get to share a sweet backyard wedding day today but also that my website and blog are back up and running normally! A few weeks ago I upgraded my website from an older version to a newer one and with that came quite a bit of a learning curve for the new designer. I went on one evening a couple of weeks ago to fix one page on my website and that turned into six hours of non-stop issues ending in a mostly functional website but my blog was acting up. Needless to say after lots of frustration, emailing with support and finally cluing in to what the issue was I was able to fix it but had to put off blogging last week.
So today on the blog I am back at it and sharing a lovely Brantford Ontario wedding! Erika and Darren were another of my amazing couples who had to make lots of tough decisions when it came to their 2020 wedding day. Originally the plan was to get married in Downtown London but as covid restrictions continued they decided to keep their original date and hold a ceremony with their closest friends and family in Erika’s parents backyard. I am still so thankful that couples did their best to go with the flow and cater their days to whatever restrictions were in place. I drove out to Brantford for Erika and Darren’s ceremony, once I arrived I made sure capture their cute little set up for their intimate dinner and some images of Erika getting into her stunning dress with her mom!
The weather called for non-stop thunderstorms and thankfully no rain showed itself through the ceremony or photos. We did deal with lots of conflicting lighting between super bright sun and overcast shade but we made it work and got to capture lots of pretty pictures and a perfect backyard ceremony! As much as covid has effected the wedding industry and done lots of damage to couples wedding day plans I am still so happy couples have gone with the flow and let love win!!
I have my fingers crossed that we will get to celebrate again this summer with a reception for these two and they can have a little bit more of the wedding they had originally planned but I am still so happy I was able to be apart of their ceremony last year!
It was such an honour to meet Erika and Darren and I wish them so much happiness in their lives together!
