3 tips for finding the perfect photographer for your wedding!
So last week on the blog I posted a wedding and an engagement session so I wanted to to do two more educational blog posts this week! Today I am writing about 3 tips for finding your perfect wedding photographer!
Finding a photographer for your wedding day can be a daunting and frankly a scary task, I mean its a big decision and you want to make sure to find the perfect person and photographer to capture all those special moments! This blog post is going to contain my 3 biggest tips I can offer to make sure you are hiring the right photographer for you, coming from a photographer and a bride.
So lets get started! My 3 tips for brides planning their wedding and finding the perfect photographer are,
Hire someone who’s work you love!
This seems simple but liking a certain photography style is part of finding the perfect fit for you! Do you like bright and colourful images? Moody and dark? Or light and airy? This would be the first thing to look at when beginning the search for a wedding photographer. Once you decide on the style you’re drawn to, start searching bridal shows, google and social media to find photographers in your area with the style you love the most!
Hire someone you love!
You will be spending a ton of time with this person so it is pretty important that you love them as much as their style! The easiest way to get to know the photographer you are interested in would be to book a consultation to sit down and chat. Ask them questions and just talk! The whole consultation doesn’t always have to be all about the photographer and how they work, you also want to just chat about things you have in common. You will connect with a person who you can just sit down and have a conversation with!
Make sure they have a package you love!
Everyone knows that wedding photography is expensive (for good reason but I won’t get into that now)! Most couples have a pretty specific budget they need to work around but I can’t stress enough always ALWAYS hire a professional photographer. As a photographer and a bride I can say that wedding photography is one of the most important things you can choose and pay for on your wedding day. Of course again you will likely have a budget so make sure you find a photographer that one, fits your budget and two, fits everything you are looking for but also be realistic!
Of course there are plenty of other factors to consider when hiring a wedding photographer but these 3 tips are a good place to start!
