Our Trip to Alberta and British Columbia

Wedding Photographer
As many of you may know at the beginning of the month my husband Tylor and I along with his parents and sister made the trip to Alberta and BC for a very special wedding day! Since we have never experienced another part of Canada other than Ontario we not only were super excited to go but also completely fell in love with the mountains!
We were making the trip to attend a wedding for one of Tylor’s childhood friends, Tylor was asked to be a groomsman and I was asked to the their photographer!! Photographing a wedding in BC has always been my number one wedding photographer bucket list item so this was a dream come true! We flew out on May 30th into Calgary where we spent the day hanging out and checking out a huge mall there, we then made the 7 hour drive from Calgary to Trail BC where the wedding was being held! The first image on this blog post is actually the view right when you drive into Trail!
The wedding day was absolutely gorgeous, we had the most perfect warm sunny weather and TJ and Tiffany said I Do in front of a mountain!! This image is one of my favourites from their day and believe it or not this was taken in one of Tiffany’s neighbours backyards!
After the wedding day we spent another day in Trail doing some sight seeing and then made the drive back to Calgary on the Monday! We took the longer route back up through Kootney and Banff National Park, we stopped at Lake Louise and took a ton of images driving through the mountains!
On the Monday evening we staying in Banff and at the recommendation from a photographer friend we hired a photographer out in the area to capture some images of Tylor and I for our one year wedding anniversary! I can’t thank Kaihla Tonai enough for the amazing images she captured in the middle of the most beautiful spot! I wanted to include one of my favourites in this post as it was one of the major highlights from this amazing trip!
I am by no means a landscape and nature photographer but I did take some time to take photos while driving around and I am so glad I did! It’s not to hard to make the mountains look absolutely amazing!!
I will say that Tylor and I absolutely fell in love with being out west and now I totally understand why so many people adore living there! I can’t wait till the next time we can make another trip out to Western Canada and I for one hope that it’s sooner than later!
