2016 Year In-Review

Happy 2017! I hope everyone had an amazing time celebrating the New Year, my Fiance and I had a lazy night with some good friends and some delicious chinese food.
2016 was one amazing year for Michelle A Photography! I got to attend my very first workshop with one of my absolute favourite photographers. I learned so much and met incredible people who are also pursuing their dreams and photography. I was featured several times on Huffpost Weddings, was featured on Champagne Sweets Blog, had an image used in Bridal Confidential Magazine, my image was chosen to be the header for the LOWeddings main page, I was interviewed and featured on LCP Canada’s website and last, that was just announced on my Instagram Story yesterday that a styled session I photographed back in October has been featured in Hitched Magazine!
I participated in three bridal shows and met so many amazing future brides and grooms, was able to meet almost all of my goals for 2016 including my biggest goal for my business of all time, going full time in April! Honestly going full time with my business was the best decision I have ever made and I have never been happier with myself and my career!
So of course this is a New Year review so I want to show off my favourites from this year and lets start with the weddings! I had the pleasure of capturing 18 wedding days this year (which is more than double what I photographed in 2015!) each wedding was so amazing and so unique! I got to capture everything from, a downtown London elopement, an amazing winter wedding in January, several golf course weddings, a couple family farm weddings and even take photos in the middle of the woods and in a library. 2016 was the year of growth and all my amazing clients for this year made it easy! They were all so open to my ideas and I wish them so much happiness in this New Year!
Up next I am sharing some styled sessions! I had the pleasure of photographing 4 styled sessions this year, the first image is from the Refresh Workshop which also included a mini styled session. The next is one of my goals for 2016, which was to plan and photograph at least one styled session which I got to do in May with so many incredible wedding vendors in the city. I was also lucky enough to be included in a fall session this past September with so many amazing vendors as well! Last, I photographed a holiday inspired styled session planned by 2 CLVR Designs here in London. Which as mentioned above was just featured in Hitched Magazine, once I get my hands on a copy I will be posting some photos!
I am looking forward to capturing even more styled and creative sessions in 2017 and also getting to work with so many amazing other wedding vendors!
Third I have my one year anniversary sessions. This is something new I am hoping to get more into for 2017. It is a great way to commemorate your first year of being married and hey who doesn’t love getting more photos with your sweetheart!
Last by not least, my amazing engagement sessions! I got to capture 15 engagement and couples sessions this year with amazing people and here are a selection of my favourites from each session!
Finally, some personal stuff, 2016 was an awesome year for my business and myself. As mentioned at the beginning I was able to got full time with my business in April, which was honestly something I was never sure if I was able to do. Not because I don’t believe in myself but just because it was something I had a hard time picturing. When the opportunity arrived and I booked my ideal number of weddings for 2016 I knew it was time to move on from my little comfort zone of Food Basics and onto bigger and better things! Honestly it is the best decision I have ever made in my life, I have had the opportunity to meet so many incredible people and photograph amazing wedding days and will continue to work hard to make sure 2017 is an even better year!
As for 2017 its going to be a big one! I say “I Do” myself in less then 5 months to the man of my dreams, I get to also celebrate 8 years of being with this incredible man and of course get to celebrate many more years to come!

I am so excited to get to be a bride this New Year and also be apart of so many lovely and incredible wedding days to come!
